After existing in various countries for nearly 15 years, the Ford EcoSport finally made its way to North America in 2017. As a compact crossover, the EcoSport is great if you need just a little more room than a sedan and the added capability that comes from an SUV frame.
 
The new Ford EcoSport is available at four grades: S, SE, SES, and Titanium.
 

Exterior

The 2022 Ford EcoSport is a fun-to-drive vehicle and, as such, is available in a dynamic palette of colours like Lightning Blue, Luxe Yellow, and Race Red — among others. EcoSport SE, SES, and Titanium models light the way with LED signature lighting and halogen quad-beam projector headlamps. All EcoSport grades, however, are equipped with the unique rear swing gate that opens out instead of up. This makes for exceptionally easy accessibility to the cargo area. If you want to go beyond the standard design features, the Sport Decal Package adds black accents on the hood and side panels of the EcoSport.
 

Performance

To help you tackle the tough roads of Trail and beyond, all 2022 EcoSport models are equipped with Intelligent 4WD that increases traction in various weather conditions. You’ll also have peace of mind with helpful systems like Traction Control, Torque Vectoring Control, and AdvanceTrac® with Roll Stability Control® working behind the scenes. For even more control, the EcoSport SES comes with a standard sport-tuned suspension for improved handling around curves.
 
Every new Ford EcoSport also has a 2.0-litre Ti-VCT I-4 engine with Auto Start-Stop Technology to help save on gas. With the six-speed SelectShift® automatic transmission, you can expect to get up to 10.4/8.0 L/100 km City/Highway.[1]
 

Interior

The cabin of the Ford EcoSport is truly versatile, offering just enough space for you and your family or whatever you need to bring along with you. The rear features 60/40 flip-up and split-fold-flat seats that let you switch up the cargo area as needed. Additionally, a Cargo Management System is standard on SE, SES, and Titanium models and lets you adjust the rear load floor to customize your storage options.
 
Throughout the interior, you’ll find various standard useful items like four cargo floor tie-downs, two second-row coat hooks, eight total beverage holders, a cargo cover, sliding sun visors with vanity mirrors, 12-volt powerpoints, and a day/night rearview mirror. As you upgrade to higher grades, added comfort and convenience arrives in the form of electronic temperature control, heated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel (optional heating element), and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.
 

Technology

You’ll also find a plethora of advanced technology in the cabin of the new 2022 Ford EcoSport. The standard SYNC® system comes with a 4.2-inch display and has FordPass Connect™ 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot capability to make it easy to stay connected on the go. When you opt for the SE and above, you’ll get a larger 8-inch touch-screen display and the SYNC® 3 system with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™. The EcoSport Titanium model is equipped with a B&O® Sound System by Bang & Olufsen®, replete with 10 speakers that surround you for an immersive music experience.
 

Safety

Ford wanted to be sure you’re staying safe on the road, too. That’s why you’ll find a host of standard and available smart safety features on the 2022 EcoSport. Standard systems on the EcoSport S include Brake Assist, Hill Start Assist, and a rear-view camera — among other more basic features like airbags. You can always add the available Ford Co-Pilot360™ technology to your EcoSport if you want even more protection. This includes innovative tech like BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with Cross-Traffic Alert, and rear parking sensors.
